When can I start my course?
Adults - Mondays - please check class descriptions.
Juniors - June to August - please check descriptions

How long is my course?
Adult courses 1 to 52 weeks.
Junior courses see Summer calendar.

What's my level?
Please do our on-line test so we can arrange your class.
All students are tested on Day 1 as well.

Can I study towards IELTS/CAE/FCE?
Yes, we offer IELTS courses (32 lessons/week).
Other exam group classes may be held  (TBC).
1 to 1 tuition can be for IELTS/TOEIC/TOEIC/FCE/CAE.

Lessons
What is a lesson at Brighton Language College like?

Lessons are communicative & focus on listening & speaking.
Grammar is studied as an aid to communicate.
Lessons are modern, challenging & well structured.

How long is each lesson?
Morning : 3 hours (4 x 45 minute lessons plus break)
Afternoon : 2 hours (3 x 45 minute lessons with a break)

What times are my classes?
Morning classes 09:00 - 10:30 / 10:45 - 12:15.
Afternoon classes 13:00 - 14:00 / 14:15 - 15:15

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, or we cannot proceed with the booking.

Deposit on booking
Balance 20 days before your course starts

How do I pay?
Bank transfer, UK bank cheque, debit card,
Mastercard, Visa, and American Express.

Do you charge a fee if I pay by credit card?
Yes, this a bank charge and unavoidable
Credit card bookings @ 2.5% handling fee

Accommodation

Where can I stay in Brighton?
We can offer homestays, hotels, and self-catering private accommodation.
Please contact us with your needs & we will help meet your needs.

I want a good homestay, near the school, can you find one for me?
All are within 30 minutes of the school under normal traffic conditions.
We try to match you with a host family to your requirements.

I want to stay in a hotel
We have a selection of hotels to suit all budgets.
Summer hotel bookings should be made early!

Visas

Do I need a visa?
If you are an EU citizen, you will not need a visa to study in the UK.
Please go to UKBA for more information if you are non EU.
Non EU students must study for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

What happens if my visa is refused?
You may want to apply again - please check as to why you were refused
You must send a copy of the visa refusal letter to us
We will refund part of your deposit - see here

Social Programme
What is your social programme?
Junior vacation courses have a social programme included.
Adult students always have evening activities in the week.
Friday afternoons we have some events arranged.
