#BLCGuide – Beach Volleyball

Last week gave us some incredible storms, but let’s hope for a more sunny and relaxed weekend this time!

Obviously our pebble beach isn’t the best place for any activity other than walking in very comfortable shoes, however you can use those shoes to take a short walk along the seafront and you will arrive at Yellowave beachsports – a man-made sandy beach which has been created solely for volleyball. Courts costs £21 per hour which includes court and ball hire.

How to get there:
Walk along from the Brighton wheel towards the marina and you will find it on your right.

#BLCGuide – Stand Up Paddle Boarding

This weekend sees an official heat warning here in Brighton! This means it is finally time to get out the sunscreen and hit the beach!!!

While you are there we suggest trying the newest watersports activity to hit our shores. This combination of surfing and kayaking brings you some of the best features from both. Taking one of these boards out gives you a fantastic view of Brighton while paddling around the Piers and even surfing small waves.

Head down to Brighton Watersports to hire a board from just £10 per hour, of course lessons are available for all those who want to learn some pro-skills before hitting the water.

How to get there:
Brighton Watersports can be found on the seafront between the piers.

#BLCGuide – Best Sunday lunch

It’s going to be a wet weekend here in Brighton, so our suggestion is a nice Sunday roast dinner followed by the World Cup final.

Take a walk down to The North Laine pub and brewery, this classic pub offerstraditional English bar food, you can also try one of the delicious English Ales brewed onsite. The North Laine can be found just a short 5 minute walk from the College.

#BLCGuide – Cinema

We have a wet weekend ahead again here in Brighton. What is your favourite thing to do on a rainy day?

This week’s #BLCGuide suggests that you cosy up with some popcorn and visit Britain’s oldest cinema and a true Brighton landmark.

The Duke of York’s Picture House opened in 1910 and shows new movies, old cult classics and even hosts weddings!

Get there by walking down London Road to Preston Circus and enter below the can can dancer’s legs – you can’t miss it!

#BLCGuide – Hove Lagoon Watersports

One of our favourite Brighton adventures.

Hove Lagoon is a fantastic location for all water-loving families, they have a man-made lagoon which is perfect for beginners, built right next to the beach. Saturday looks like it’s going to be a wash-out so head down on Sunday for some awesome fun!
