#BLCGuide – Hove Lagoon Watersports

One of our favourite Brighton adventures.

Hove Lagoon is a fantastic location for all water-loving families, they have a man-made lagoon which is perfect for beginners, built right next to the beach. Saturday looks like it’s going to be a wash-out so head down on Sunday for some awesome fun!

#BLCGuide – Afternoon tea

This weekend we have another bank holiday but in true English tradition it is going to be a wet and rainy one. Another, better English tradition is afternoon tea.

Keep yourself dry and fill up on cake and tiny sandwiches at Brighton’sBlackbird Tea Rooms – a lovely way to avoid the rain this weekend.

How to get there:
Located in Ship Street in the centre of Brighton.

#BLCGuide – Lewes

It’s going to be the sunniest and hottest weekend of the year so far and a great opportunity to experience one of England’s most picturesque towns!

Lewes is a beautiful and traditional English market town set in the lovely South Downs countryside. Perched up on the hill overlooking the town is Lewes Castle, built almost 1000 years ago. It’s a fantastic place to visit, particularly for a great family day out.

How to get there:
Take the number 28 or 29 bus from directly opposite the college, they run very regularly and take about 25 minutes.

#BLCGuide – Indoor Climbing

Smog and pollution in the week, chance of rain at the weekend. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a great for fun activities over the next few days but if you want to stay active and stay indoors then this week’s #BLCguide has something in mind…

Boulder Brighton : Climbing Centre is an indoor bouldering centre which is great for beginner and experienced climbers alike and is just a short bus ride from central Brighton.

How to get there:
Take bus number 49 from central Brighton to Portslade station and walk 5 minutes down Victoria Road.

Do you guys have any other ideas what to do on a rainy weekend?

#BLCGuide – Arundel Castle

We think this is one of the most incredible castles in Great Britain!

Arundel Castle is almost 1000 years old and is the family home of the Duke of Norfolk. You can spend hours exploring the castle and amazing gardens. Afterwards it’s just a short walk into the little traditional village of Arundel for some delicious cream tea!

How to get there:
Take the Portsmouth train from Brighton station along the coast and change train at either Ford or Barnham, after this it’s just a short 5 minute journey to Arundel station. You will see the castle when you arrive.

#BLCGuide – Fish and Chips

This week’s #BLCGuide has caused huge debate in the BLC office.

This week we are looking at…

Brighton’s best fish and chips!!!

People come from all over the country to enjoy fish and chips on Brighton beach but my vote goes to a hidden takeaway and restaurant near London road.

Bardsley’s has been serving the finest fish since 1926. Crispy batter, proper chips and the mushiest peas have even won awards for this traditional, family run fish and chip shop.

How to get there:
Leaving central Brighton, walk along London road towards Preston Park and turn right on Baker Street. You can also check here on google maps;http://tinyurl.com/ogk5p8q

Let us know where your favourite place for fish and chips in Brighton is…

#BLCGuide – Seven Sisters

One of our favourite places to spend a sunny afternoon.

Located in the South Downs National Park, the Seven Sisters are seven hills made of chalk cliffs, offering amazing views along the coastline and across theEnglish Channel.

How to get there:
Take the 12, 12A or 13 buses from Brighton (bus stop on the seafront, opposite the sealife centre) to the Country Park.

Where do you like to go in Brighton when the sun is shinning?
